History of the Levant Foundation
The institution was founded in 1999 by Jamal and Rania Daniel. It was initially established with the aim of promoting knowledge and awareness of three religions – Judaism, Islam and Christianity – in particular regions of the Middle East. It also aimed at informing organizations and people in general about the religious culture of the Middle East. These still remain the priority of this foundation.

Till date, the organization has sponsored or funded various programs featuring subjects that contribute to intellectual enhancement and understanding of different cultures. Once the Foundation funds a program, it continues to operate with grant recipients to ensure that the donations fulfill the aimed objectives. It also makes sure that the institutions and projects obtain utmost benefit.
Facts about the Foundation
Over the years, The Levant Foundation has sponsored many programs and also used various types of media to promote unity among different faith systems.
· In 1999, the organization assisted in the creation of the Foundation for Interreligious and Intercultural Research and Dialogue. The primary objective behind this was to help people understand Christianity, Islam and Judaism in a peaceful manner.
· In 2004, it helped create The Texan-French Alliance for the Arts, a non-profit organization that aims to support and promote cultural exchange and understanding between Texas and France.
· In 2009, it hosted an event entitled “Fusion” that presented the union of various musical performances and art styles from different countries. This enriching aesthetic experience aimed at promoting the message of unity in diversity of religions and cultures.
· In 2009 and 2010, it lent support to the YES Academy – the only international academy of arts featuring talented young people from Lebanon, Iraq and Syria.
· In 2011, it bought 20% of the Arabic newspaper As-Safir to promote its message through mainstream media.
The Levant Foundation is an esteemed organization in the Middle East. The foundation has some of the most elite personalities of the world in its board of directors, such as Rabbi Rene-Samuel Sirat, Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan, Archbishop Michael Fitzgerald and Emmanuel Adamakis.
